BUCKS MILLS SOUTHWOOD | 4 Bedrooms | Bucks Mills | Sleeps 8 Ref 57885
BUCKS MILLS SOUTHWOOD OVERVIEW
SOUTHWOOD is a character 4 bedroom Devonshire cottage dating back a couple of centuries. Originally two cottages, Numbers 11 & 12 have been 'knocked through' on the ground floor with the two original stairways remaining. A perfect character cottage for those looking for a tranquil retreat, this delightful cottage is surprisingly spacious and well presented throughout. This layout makes the cottage ideal for two families or couples wishing to holiday together, allowing both to have their independent upstairs areas and bath or shower room. This spacious cottage is perfectly situated in the middle of the quaint village of Bucks Mills, perched above the stream and just a few minutes walk from the beach. The narrow winding lane through the village passes a few whitewashed cottages and ends up in the village square as a 'no through' lane. Hence the village is quiet and peaceful without passing traffic. Southwood has a lovely private south facing garden with woodland views and the sea just visible from the 'upper lawn'.
Southwood is a cottage just full of character and warmth with beams, low ceilings, stone floors and other traditional features.
The characterful sitting room has a traditional fireplace and wood burning stove to keep you warm on cooler evenings (initial log supply provided). The house is also heated by efficient night storage heating. Comfortable sofas and chairs seat 8 people and entertainment includes a flat screen TV with FreeSat, DVD, Hi Fi and ipod dock. Wifi internet access is included.
The large dining room provides access from the sitting room to the kitchen. A table seats 8 people, with an attractive dresser and character fireplace. A high chair is provided.
The kitchen is very well equipped, facilities include a ceramic hob, 2 built in ovens, dishwasher, large fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine, toaster, kettle, crockery and kitchen utensils. There is also a table and chairs, window seat and character fireplace.
