BRAUNTON BURLEIGH HOUSE OVERVIEW
BURLEIGH HOUSE; a home lovingly decorated and themed by its owner, greets you immediately with its sense of warmth and tasteful elegance as you enter. Situated in the heart of Braunton, (Britain’s largest village), where one is spoilt for choice and with direct routes to all the tourist hot-spots. Just outside the village are the Braunton Burrows, (historic site of D-Day Landing preparations), and where one can walk for hours through these majestic dunes. A little further on is the Blue Flag Beaches of Saunton and Croyde - The former, world-renowned for its surf. Following the alternate route out of the village, Blue Flag Woolacombe Beach is just over the hill. BURLEIGH is a large home with a manicured garden and ample space comprises of 4-bedrooms (1 bedroom with en-suite), sleeping 8+ with 2 lounges and a sunny dining room overlooking the garden. 12ft Trampoline with full safety netting is available for use. (Please note that the use of any equipment is entirely at your own risk).
From the entrance hall, you have the choice of a large family lounge on the left and a more intimate front room on the right. The colours are rich and warm and one can’t help but feel at home. The aforementioned lounge, decorated in chocolate and autumn hues allows one easy access to the light and airy dining room situated in the conservatory and flowing seamlessly out into the manicured garden.
Lounge: This room simply oozes charm and character, the ambiance is warm and inviting with comfortable furnishings with seating for 11. For your convenience included within the lounge areas are 2 x TVs with free-view, DVD / CD player, a children’s toy box and a selection of books for your enjoyment, WiFi is also available for a small charge.
Dining room / conservatory: This light and airy dining room is situated in the conservatory, a sunny aspect room overlooking the garden, there is a solid wooden table and chairs with seating for 10.
The kitchen positioned in between the lounge areas, has all the amenities one would expect from a home of this size and quality and is perfect for those evenings where you want to eat in, share in good conversation and a glass of wine - all while preparing your favourite dish. A truly traditional country style kitchen combining the beauty of a butler sink, antique taps and wood-look work surface. A well-equipped kitchen, you will find a washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and kettle.
Within this kitchen you will also find a plentiful supply of plates, glasses, crockery and cooking utensils.
Going upstairs, your senses are spoilt with luxuriously appointed bedrooms and you can’t help sapping up the tactile warmth. The four bedrooms; styled like a boutique hotel, embrace one with textures and fabrics of warm muted colours and with gorgeous feature walls and damask prints - There are 2 double-bedrooms, 2 single-beds available and a triple bunk, (double bed below and single above). The perfect rooms to cocoon yourself when the weather turns to chilly
One of the four bedrooms is immaculately presented throughout a double-bed with white wooden bedhead and matching white bedroom furniture; including bedside tables, 6-drawer chest of drawers and white wooden mirror.
The second of the double bedrooms has a super king bed. There is a different feel to this room with its luxurious textures and damask feature wall and black iron bed head.
A further cosy-cottage bedroom overlooking the front of the property with en-suite combining the beauty of its traditional wooden flooring and warmth feel to this room.
There is a large family bathroom with Victorian bath; that will beckon you for a long well-deserved soak. The bathroom is fitted with a lovely white suite comprising a roll-top bath, hand basin and WC and traditional wooden flooring. There is an en-suite shower room off one of the bedrooms and a further separate WC located on the ground floor with shower.
To the rear of the property is a large well manicured enclosed and private garden with ample space to entertain. Off to the side of the garden is a small gravel patio area with a picnic bench. There is plenty of place to play, kids will have a ball in the large outdoor space with a further wooden bench great for socialising and reliving the day's adventures. 12ft Trampoline with full safety netting is available for use. WALK TO - Braunton and surrounds is a great place for days out with family and friends. Many local restaurants and pubs offer a superb variety of food and entertainment such as Squires (great fish and chips), At One (Tapas Evenings), The George Pub (great local food as well as Thai Cuisine) and The Williams Arms (well renowned Sunday roasts). Entertainment facilities are available for all ages.
CYCLE TO - cyclists can enjoy the 30-mile Tarka Trail tracking the scenic coastline of North Devon.
DRIVE TO - the beaches of Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe are only a short drive away (note to dog owners: Saunton, Putsborough and Woolacombe have demarcated dog-friendly areas for your dog). A day at historic Braunton Burrows is great for walkers. Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, The Milky Way and The Big Sheep all within a short driving distance.
For the more adventurous, kite surfing, surfing, horse riding and kayaking are popular sports in the area. Cultural days can be passed at Arlington Court, historic Clovelly Village, Watermouth Castle, Lynton, Lynmouth and many more. Saunton Golf Course is a mere 3 miles down the road with its 2 famous links courses. Finally, picturesque walks through beautiful forested areas and running rivers such as at Watersmeet will complete your wonderful stay in the beautiful part of England.
