Lynmouth is a famous harbour village, where two rivers pour from steep oak-wooded valleys. On Lynton?s edge begins the very spectacular Valley of the Rocks. This is marvellous walking country with a good variety of terrain.

Surrounding the villages are some of North Devon's most breathtaking and stunning South West coastal walks and the wonderful wilderness of Exmoor with its diverse wildlife.

The coastline from the North Devon resorts of Lynton and Lynmouth to Minehead, (approximately 18 miles) is spectacular. Porlock is 10 miles away and can be reached via the Exmoor National Park. The regional centre of Barnstaple is approximately 18 miles and offers a range of local and national high street shops, banks and leisure facilities in addition to a railway link to Exeter. For blue-flag beaches; Croyde, Putsborough & Woolacombe beaches offer sand and surf in less than an hour away. A stop at the Dinosaur Park or Exmoor Zoo on the way back will keep the children smiling. For older children, the North Devon Karting Centre offers thrills and spills or for the little ones, there's the fun filled Watermouth Castle and Family Theme Park. You can even take an Exmoor Jeep Safari across the stunning moors to see the Red Deer and Exmoor ponies.
